LocatePic EXIF Viewer parses raw binary JPEG/TIFF/HEIC ArrayBuffers directly in your browser without uploading files to any server. It decodes IFD0 device headers, ExifIFD optical exposure settings, and GPSIFD (0x8825) geodetic coordinates with sub-second precision.
Does this EXIF viewer upload my photos to a cloud server?
Never. The binary parser reads the first 128KB of your file directly inside your browser using JavaScript DataView and ArrayBuffer APIs. Your image never leaves your device.
Why does my photo show "EXIF Stripped" in the viewer?
If a photo was transmitted through WhatsApp, Instagram, X, or Facebook, the platform re-encodes the JPEG and deletes the APP1 EXIF marker. Use our Optical Triangulation tab on the same screen to locate stripped photos.
Can I also remove EXIF data after viewing it?
Yes. Click the "Scrub & Export Clean Image" button inside the workbench to strip all metadata and download a privacy-safe copy.
