▸ Technical Specifications & Verification FAQ↓
Mapping an image to a physical location bridges visual pixels and vector cartography. LocatePic extracts visual descriptors—such as highway girder profiles, mountain contours, and flora—and projects them onto a 1:25,000 topographic coordinate grid.
Does Image to Location work on cropped or resized images?
Yes. Even when cropping removes EXIF headers and alters aspect ratios, structural features like bridge piers, roof tiles, and vegetation remain intact for optical triangulation.
How accurate is image to location mapping for rural highways?
By combining highway engineering standards (such as box-girder pier spacing and median barriers) with horizon mountain contours, rural highway corridors typically lock within ±1.5 km.
Can I test how the pipeline works before uploading my own image?
Yes. Click EX-01 Qingyuan, EX-02 Qaidam, or EX-03 Vancouver on the left panel to inspect live calibration exhibits immediately.
